I don't even know if I can fit it all in one post, but I have the most exciting news to share. Most of you know I had to take a brief hiatus from teaching my group children's yoga classes because I went into the public school system to share our program with kids in school. I had several kids at the school who were super interested in yoga and mindfulness and adding it into their counseling experience, and I think we did some amazing work together. But...there's always a but...I couldn't help but think that as good as that part of it was, I could do better work and reach more people outside the confines of the school. And so that being said, when the school year ended, I jumped headfirst into planning out the next phase of Breathe Balance Grow and here we are!
So now you're doing counseling?
Ok, yes this one seems obvious to some because I am first and foremost a licensed counselor and have always been doing counseling, but now it will be the primary focus in my new office space! I will be using a mindfulness based approach (of course) and will be working with women and children. I'm also going to have room in my schedule for a few athletes who I'm really excited to start working with!
Are you still doing yoga?
Ummm, yes! Of course! My new office has space available for me to run some groups (for kids OR for women) where we can do some yoga, share some amazing experiences, and engage in personal wellness. And I cannot wait to start those programs, but first I'm going to get my individual counseling program up and running. But stay tuned because we all know I can't stay away from teaching yoga to children for too long, I just love it too much!
So what's the next step?
Well, that's up to you. I'm going to keep sharing resources and information on my BBG social media pages and through my emails about children's yoga, mindfulness, and wellness. But I'll also probably start sharing some information (you may have already seen some of it) pertaining to women's wellness. It's up to you if you want to stay in touch with the subtle shift, obviously I hope you do. In terms of my counseling, I would LOVE it if you referred people to me that you think would be a good fit for the type of work I do and the type of person/counselor I am. Feel free to share my website (which is a work in progress, but has LOTS of info already about how my counseling will run), my FB page, my IG page, or just my contact information.
And that my lovely friends is the big news for now, but hang in there because there will be more in dribs and drabs as I really get going.
